25th Domino World Championship 2019
Hege Lofthus is Domino World Champion 2019!
35 players from Norway, Germany and Switzerland took part in the 2019 Domino World Championship at six venues.
The trophy this year went to Hege Lofthus from Oslo for the second time to Norway, who triumphantly concluded her successful domino year with this renewed victory after becoming Scandinavian runner-up and world number one for two months. In 2011, she had taken the coveted title for the first time.
The 2018 runner-up Christopher Flathmann managed to successfully defend his title. He was only narrowly beaten by Hege. The bronze title went to two-time world champion Guðný Ósk Scheving, also from Norway. Best Swiss participant was Alex Klee in place 9.
The 2018 world champion Max Nolting did not manage to defend his title. He ended up in 31st place this year.
The picture shows the Swiss participants at their venue in Ettingen – however, the accompanying delicious and rich buffet seemed to hinder the sporting successes …
